This was a dream project – collaborating with dance artist Lois Taylor to bring a text/movement score to STERTS theatre on 27 Sept as part of the Sea Dance performances curated by Dance Centred. ‘Emergency Navigation’ was sparked by the question: What would you do if you found yourself alone at sea, in charge of a boat, with no navigation equipment? The work explores that unmoored feeling — the times in life when we can’t rely on formal maps and methods but instead have to improvise, responding instinctively to shifts around us. Through found text and movement, Lois and I navigated those moments together.
